MPD 24 with 1000

ok, so this sounds crazy but instead of fixing ALL of my dead pads I want to get an mpd 24 to trigger my MPC. My very important question is this: Can I use the MPD pads to control the track mutes of the MPC? The reason I ask is because you cannot control the track mutes with a regular keyboard midi controller (or can you...?)

you cant control track mutes with a midi keyboard. which is a good sign that the mpd wont control them either.
