i am 13 years of age,my daddy just bought me a mpc1000. tired of using headphones sometimes. do i need an amplifier in order to hook up monitor speakers or not and if not hook up input.

The level coming out of the MPC1000 is what they call "Line Level" which is too low to drive speakers so yes, you will need an amplifier and speakers or powered speakers. If you are going to do any serious mixing you need to get "Reference Monitor Speakers" as they do not color the sound too much. This way you get a true representation of the sound. If you are not doing any serious mixing yourself then you could just get some computor speakers and save some cash.
