Beatmaking on the MPC 1000

Does anyone have the beatmaking on the mpc 1000 tutorial?? I'm goin through it tryna learn it and i'm stuck on a section. If anyone else has the book and has studied it that can help that would be great! The part i'm confused about is in the Internal Mixer chapter. On page 86-87 where it talks about Changing Outputs. Any help on explaining this will be greatly appriciated. Thanks.

whats so confusing? The MPC has 6 outputs, select where you want to send your audio, you can also use the manual as a reference.

OK. Say i wanted to use a firewire mixer to change the eq and add effects or send the sound too a daw. Would you use those outputs? I basically just wanna know the way to hook up the firewire mixer to the mpc. thanks.
