brand new mpc1000, no hard drive space..did i do something?

Alright so i ordered a brand new mpc, got it on christmas. Loaded it up with jjosxl2. When im trying to extract part of a sample, or change it to sliced samples, it tells me i have insufficient memory. As far as i know i didn't save anything to my hard drive, but when i checked it said i have 0.0MB free. Can i find out if i put anything on there accidently and get it off to free up some space? Or can i save the sample to my CF card maybe? Thanks for any help.

Insufficient memory hasn't anything to do with ur harddisk. It's ur ram memory. (this is ur sample work space)
The mpc says there's no space on ur harddisk because u probably haven't formatted it. Hasn't got anything to do with ur ram memory.

can you give me info on how to format? i looked through my manual and didn't see anything, maybe overlooked it, i saw about formatting the CF card and did that but i'm guessing that's not what you're talking about.

It used to be in the load/ save screen in the normal os...I have jjos1 but I can't find that feature either.
Try the search function in the jjos thread. I believe I read something about formatting disks/cards with jjos. Not sure.

just my 2 cents worth - format it via your pc - it will be about a million times easier.
