Alright I have a few questions, I hope they aren't too dumb. I'm pretty new to sequencers and midi. I just want to figure out if this stuff is POSSIBLE to do with the mpc1000. My midi knowledge doesn't go much further than hooking up a midi controller to a rack synth or syncing an effects processor to another device's midi clock.
(I'm using jjos1 right now, but I'll upgrade to 2xl eventually.)
1. Is it posssible to use the mpc1000's sequencer to control setting changes on my effects processors ESPECIALLY the Adrenalinn 3? It's a great fx processor with really cool tempo synced fx, and it would be great to be able to (for example) switch the rhythm from 1/8 note to triplets in time with the sequencer. If this isn't possible with the akai ok/jjos1/jjos2/xl I bet it could be rigged up with Max/Msp. I haven't seen any vids of people using the mpc to control their external effects, and I think there are tons of possibilities of what can be done.
2. I'm about to buy a KP3 and I read that it can record x-y pad movements to a sequencer. Is this possible with an mpc? I haven't seen it done in any of the mpc/kp3 youtube videos.
3. What do you guys do to get more midi outs on your mpc1000. http://keyboards-midi.musiciansfriend.c ... sku=702504 This looks pretty good, and the price is reasonable.
Here's my setup by the way.. I went from mainly playing guitar/effects to building my little "dream" studio for recording and creating songs.
Behringer SX442FX Mixer into Tascam CF Portastudio
Soundmakers/instruments: MPC1000 (JJOS1, 2gb ram, 120gb hard drive), Gibson SG, Takamine Acoustic (into behringer acoustic preamp), Yamaha TX81Z, Microkorg, EEE Pc 1000ha, Nintendo DS
Effects: Tc Electronic Fireworx, Behringer V-Verb, Adrenalinn 3, EHX 2880 (looper), Line 6 M13, few pedals (devi ever cherry pop, ok, midi-fi electronics clari(not), boss ps-2)
this is a great forum, i've been lurking forever and you guys convinced me to get a 1000 (and maybe jel had something to do with it). hopefully you guys can help me clear up this stuff.... i love effects, and i'm always trying to find new and interesting ways to use them. i'm hoping i can use the mpc to come up with some creative new sounds, even if it can't do what i want i won't be getting rid of it, it's a great tool. thanks guys!
