what up. What I'm trying to do is play a sample from the mpc 1000 to motif and play them thorughout all the keys (pitch)

i know that i can sample on the motif but i want to try with mpc for editing purposes (usb transfer, filters etc)

the main question. do i have to create a program manually on the mpc (for the sample pitch) or does the mpc have a function (i believe 16 levels doesn't work with midi, not sure.)

I hope this makes sense.

I've been working with the Motif es, for some time now, but being new to the Akai 1000, I still have more learning to do.
As far as I know the instrument that you are controlling from, if it's the MPC' put a MIDI cable going from MIDI out (A) from the AKAI to the MOTIF midi in. Midi must be turned on from the MPC.
from the main page, in the lower right, turn the data wheel until it show MIDI ON.
The Motif is usually Midi slaved from default when you turn it on.
If you want to be more specific in what you control from your Akai to the Mo. From the Motif go to pattern or song-Mixing-Voice is F-2, category search your sound to put in the track-hit enter, and your sound is now being controlled from the MPC.
You can do the same with your sample.
Remember, the sample is only being controlled from the Akai for note data. To control the effects on the Motif from the Akai the effect from the Motif would be hosting the sound from the Motif not the effect from the Akai, that's only the master controller.

I hope that this info would help you.
Peace out, God bless.
