pad upgrade installation

so i don't **** up my machine....what is the first step to installing before you take off the faceplate

Step One Make sure your MPC is powered down and unplugged from the MPC.

Well technically that was two steps. Step two was free.

anyways im ASSuming that (since i cant access youtube at work) that the video is the mpcstuff.com vid on how to install the pad upgrade? if so that should be enough to get you well and on your way.

More like Pad Downgrade. Did I get a bad set or are these replacement pads complete shit? If I put all my weight into it I can only hit about 20 velocity. Anything I can do about this?

did you try messing with the vel settings?

Yeah I've got them all set to 16. The highest I've got them to read so far is 87, but if I hit any harder I think the board will crack. A normal hit on the pads will only reach about 30. These pads are almost as useless as the almost dead pads I just replaced. $180 bucks too. ****.

you have to adjust the pad on level
1-being the most sensitive
20-being the least sensitive

the forum has a search bar for this type of stuff.
try that next time.

What OS are you running that has 20 as a sensitivity option? Mine goes from 1 to 16 and through trial and error I've discovered that 16 is the most sensitive. I've got JJ 4.27.

Make sure u have the latest akai os or at least JJOS 1 for the perfect pad respond.

Can anyone help me out? I've got JJ OS 4.27 and the pad replacement and they have terrible response set at the most sensitive level.

appreciated...i saw the video and the guy said something about storing the program or some shit.....so i wanted to make sure before i took the case off i did everything right so i wouldnt lose anything

and i've discovered that you can't read.
i said PAD ON LEVEL not sensitivity.
you have to press mode + other.
then press the pad button at the bottom of the screen.
highlight pad on level.
and bring it down to 1.
the pads should be super sensitive afterwards.

"Pad on Level" doesn't seem to exist in my OS. Under Mode, Other, Pad the only options I get are "Pad sensitivity" and "Velocity Curve". Pad Sensitivity goes from 1 - 16, Velocity Curve goes from A to D. And then there's a Velocity meter on the right side. Am I missing something?

Anyone with OS 4.27 have any suggestions?
