trouble with transferring wave files and then playing them

I know how to transfer files using the usb cable and the computer, but when I export audio from cubase (as a wave file) the MPC doesn't seem to recognize the file after I open it up/or load it. It says WRONG FILE. Does anybody know what I might be doing wrong? All help would be appreciated.

I'm bumping this back up. If you read this and know anything please help...

just because its wave doensnt mean its right, make sure is a .WAV, 16 bit and 44.1 also make sure that the name of the sample is no more than 16 characters in length.

This is exactly what you need to do when you export the files from Cubase. I have Cubase as well and if you don't export them correctly it won't work.

You can also solve this with coverting the file with a software. That's what I do when I don't have the files right with a folder or two of samples that need to be converted. You can batch process the whole folder in seconds.

make sure youre not exporting as broadcast wave.. broadcast wave is still a wav file but has an origin field and maybe even other fields embedded which might be the problem..

This totally worked!!! Wicked and thanks alot. I have been timestretching in cubase because I find it maintains the integrity of the beat/sample and then I ship it to the MPC so I can mess with it, and run it through my kaoss pad!
