have you upgraded the RAM?

if so, check that the RAM is seated properly.

check that all the connectors you removed have been
reconnected completely.

don't panic and take it to a repair guy... chances are
they won't know how to fix it anyway.

sit tight, do some research, contact some peeps...

it'll all be good :)

OK...
So after some soldering practise and chasing down the switches from a local electronic store (60 cents each)
i managed to replace all the dead switches with new ones, and the ram problem i had was very easy.. i opened up the ram, and it looks like the previous owner has tried to glue the ram down and its popped back up because it doesnt snap down like its meant to, so i just glued it back down and it boots up fine now. HOWEVER................
switches that used to work now dont work, very confusing, my F5 button and my left directional button now work fine, but my F6 and F1 button dont work and i didnt even touch them.
it just doesnt make any sense to me at all
