Just got my MPC 1000 and it is very easy to navigate about. I do have a question because its driving me crazy. I downloaded a bunch of free sounds off of Hollow Sun.com and dumped each folder of sounds into the CF card from my computer. Now, when i tried to upload any of the samples or programs that came with the download, the folders loaded but there is no programs nor sounds that i can search for in the program field in the first track. I scroll and there is nothing. I am thinking of going to the computer again and extracting all of the samples from the folders and trying to load them onto the MP that way, then creating the folder from the MP. Is this the right way to do it? Does the MPC not recognize the folders that you create on the computer then dump those folders on the CF card. I also did the above procedure with the beats I created. I created my new folders on the computer and put my samples, programs and seqs all in the specified folder then dumped it to the CF card. sorry for rambling but this is killing me. I am sure this is just a rookie mistake.... thanks for any help! PS i did unzip the folder after initially downloading the sample.

haha i think i did the same thing...

if you want to pick certain programs/samples/sequences/etc from a folder, highlight the folder, then use the right cursor key to open its contents.

I dunno if that was what u were asking tho

Did the samples you downloaded from Hollow Sun have MPC 1000 programs?

Did you read the manual on Loading files? Try page 75. Pages 89-90 are handy too.

The MPC can read from and write to folders created by a computer.

but remember that the MPC only loads folders and not sub-folders, it will skip past those and you need to select them individually and load them.

yeah i think i loaded the sub folders. so i will try to do that today. thanks for the help.

You have to create a program. It won't work with the folder alone.

Cool thanks i kind of figured that out the hard way so what i did was load all the samples on the cf card then when i go and create a beat i can just load any sound that i want then create the program on that sequence then save all of them under a new folder. perfect. I think!
