Hello, I'm new here!

First off I'll admit that I don't own a 1000 yet, but am planning on purchasing one in the next few weeks. But first I have to ask a question that's been bugging me, because it's such a problem with my Korg Electribe ES-1, and I'm hoping the 1000 doesn't work like this.

Say you copy a pattern and make a variation on it, like add a drum fill or something, or just change the beat up a little. So you've got this pattern that's based off another pattern, following me so far? Now say you decide that the high hats are a little too loud so you turn them down a little bit. Here's my question: am I going to have to turn down the high hat in every pattern in the song, or is the mixer like, universal, so when I turn the high hat down it's applied to every pattern that has that sample?

I didn't quite understand the architecture of the mixer as it applies to sequences and tracks so I figured I'd better ask here before I bought it. Cause on my Electribe, if I make a variation of a pattern and I decide to lower the volume or pan of something, I have to go through every pattern and adjust the sample so all the patterns are consistant.

I hope I'm wording this right so you can understand it.

Thanks to replies, peace!

Yes the mixer is universal you dont have to do turn it down in every different sequence.

If you were to decide to lower the hihat volume in one sequence, what you would do is lower the velocity of the hi hat track, in that particular sequence. But if your trying to lower the volume in every pattern yea you would go to the mixer screen

Thanks for the reply!! I'm super psyched now to get my 1000! It wouldn't have been a deal breaker, but it's a major relief to know that so many of the issues I deal with on my electribe won't be present with the 1000.

Thanks again!

If i were you id make sure i get JJOS aswell, The first time i got my mpc 1000 i was pritty excited to, but i was stuck with the akai opearting system for a while. and that thing is shit!

had alot of bugs and it even could corupt your savings!

I would download the free JJOS as soon as you get the machine and get use to that instead of the aki OS
