Hey has anyone else encountered a glitchy ass liney ass screen on there mpc? It only really happens when i have the casing on or if i apply extra pressure to the screen area. When i tap my pads at times lines all these show up across the screen or it just straight up glitches out... Ive opened it up to check all connections and fiddle with the screen but there seems to be no straight up direct influences on the glitches except it really happens alot when i have my casing on. when i take the casing off it pretty much works fine....i dont get it?!!@# Im almost ready to splurge on a fancy new blue LCD screen. any suggestions?

PS. everything else is tottally functional, its been happening with my old ass pads and even since i upgraded my pads and added the JJOS1. I can still bang out beats but its gettin difficult chopping with all these extra lines across my screen.

also, there seems to be no extra pressure applyed on the screen from the casing.... even when i have the casing off and push on the LCD with my fingers in any spot it generally doesnt glitch out.

That sucks - perhaps your screen has developed a fault, when you put your casing on it sits on the foam surrounding the screen right? Perhaps if your screen is ok with the cover off that's enough to trigger the fault (the slight pressure on the foam). Are there any service centres near you. It would suck if you got a new blue screen and the same thing was happening. Hope you get it fixed dude.

The funny thing is that when I Syke the casing off and push on the foam with my fingera it doesn't barely f**k up! I know my casing aint that tight! When I leave the casing really loose in the back with no screws it isn't as bad but it still acts funny. I mean ice had this mpc for a while its not like the casing magically started squeezin the shit out of it this past couple months...

The only thing that you can do is just check all of the internal stuff and make sure everything is in tight and nothing touching or shorting on anything internally - did you try a search? has anyone else had a similar issue with their 1K that they managed to fix (just a thought?)

You could take a gamble, of course, and order the new blue screen and keep your fingers crossed that it fixes it.

Again good luck.

I though I have read about this problem somewere in the pads replacement threat. I cannot find it now. Was about getting rid of the lines by replacing some cheap components. An Akai technical bulletin was posted in that topic aswell. But maybe that was only about a problem that could occur because of a faulty pad replacements board.

Yo P, we got the same issue. The screens we got are acting that way. I thought it was me and my office (studio) but to hear you say it has me thinking something could be up with the screen or installation. Get at me on this, dog.

When you install the new pads you may have to adjust the pad sensitivity... but when you install the new screen with JJ you also have to adjust the screen res. That would be [stop]+[turn jog wheel]...

But that won't show odd [lines] on the screen... Good luck.

I thought it was electricity... being near other computer... or power issue with power strip... something along those lines. When I turn my ish on with late at night when everyone in house is sleeping, I get a good look... but during the day its glitchy as hell.

Leaving work now and will get at you later.

Nope, that is not what I meant. I have searched for about 15 minutes to find the info again on the forum. Read the following about the flickering screen. Maybe it's the same problem. Also see the Akai pdf in the topic. So you have to replace a diode, but maybe only if you have the old padfix board.
