It sounds tough, but I've heard from a few that did it that is wasn't that bad-
If I can find LED's with the original brightness, I'll probably replace mine.

Thought I'd bump this old thread since I'm looking to change mine out soon- I've searched quite a bit and can't find the tutorial that I remember seeing...since nanopoop wasn't very helpful on this thread, I'd thought I'd see if anyone know of the link to it?

I'm an id10t when it comes to soldering... but I pulled it off. I got mostly blue leds in my 1k.

Its straight forward. Just make sure you have the right tools and be patient. Dont YANK the old LED's out. Also make sure they are facing the right way. Shouldnt take more than a few minutes each LED.
