midi sample dump is when u connect the fantom to the MPC and dump selected sounds from the fantom into the mpc. Dont use that because it will get too complicated when u use mad sounds. YOur best bet is to go into multi mode on the fantom and save as a new soung on the fantom.

yeah i do have a fantom. if u r playing sound out the fantom via midi their is no way to just load up from the mpc cause their is no sounds actually being saved on their. midi is signals not sounds so u will always need to load up your midi device

^^^lmao

you can save sys ex messeges in the MPC. trigger a sys ex dump from the Fantom and record it on a track in the MPC, when you load that sequence up the MPC will transmit those sys ex messages back to the Fantom calling up all the right patches and settings

1. Press [MENU] to open the Menu window.
2. Press or to select “Data Transfer,” and then press
[8 (Select)].
The Data Transfer window appears.
3. Move the cursor to “Destination” and select “MIDI.”
4. Move the cursor to “Source” and use the following choices
to specify the data that will be transmitted.
*1 Only the current multitimbre/performance settings will be transmitted.
*2 The current multitimbre/performance settings and the setting of a
patch or rhythm set assigned to the part will be transmitted.
Type of Data to Transmit
ALL: Patch, rhythm set, multitimbre, and performance
SETUP: Setup
SYSTEM: System
PATCH: Patch
RHYTHM: Rhythm set
MULTITIMBRE: Multitimbre
PERFORMANCE: Performance
Transmit Source Data
USER: Data from user memory will be transmitted.
TEMP: Transmit the data from the temporary area.
CTRL: The state of the multitimbre/performance (e.g., the
multitimbre/performance bank select and program changes) will be
transmitted as MIDI channel messages, not as exclusive messages.
Refer to “MIDI Implementation” (Sound/Parameter list) for
more on the Control Change messages that are received.
5. Set the external MIDI device so that it will be ready to receive
data, and press [8 (Execute)] to execute data transmission.
While the data is being transmitted, the display will indicate
“Processing...” When “Complete !” is displayed, the
transmission has been completed.
To halt during transmission, press [EXIT].
