When i play long samples on my 1k and simultaneously mash on other pads it stops playing the long sample. Like its overloaded or something. I know this can't be normal or it would be complained about more often. Any help? Should i contact akai about it?

i dont know what it's called exactly but, maybe you have it set so when you hit another pad it cuts the previous mode off.

no. i know what mute groups are and use them quite frequently. Its most defintely a glitch. It dosen't stop the long sample the moment i hit another pad . It happens if i hit a pad rapidly or use note repeat.

um dude u obviously havent been resampling the tracks u made u either ran ur limit of voices witch is why it cuts off that what it does to me to but thats why u sample what u play and splice and sample and splice them bitchs till u get the master peice collage that is ur song, well this is how i do it :) as a work around

How much other stuff have you got playing at the same time? Don't forget the 1000 has 32 not poly, so if your playing stereo samples you can halve that to 16 (maybe?).

are all your samples trimmed properly ? (no long blank at the end).

long blank at the end + note repeat can make you use all the polyphony wihtout hearing it.

Okay. this happens during live play. Not just when its playing recorded sequenceing. And it happens very easiliy with not that much going on. All that i have to do to make it happen is trigger a long sample, lets say a 2 bar sample, then trigger in drums, like mabey 4 (ex.: hat, kick 1, snare, kick 2) and it will stop the long sample. Nothing is on a mute group. samples are pefectly trimed. There is deffinatly not 32 voices going. Mabey 8 max. I think i got tiger vomitt's sickness.

Did you ever contact akai about your problem? Did you sell your old mpc and get a new one?

i sold the old one to gtr center and got an XL for a bit. i decided i liked the 1k better so i sold the XL and it's been awesome. no problems at all with the new 1k. i had a ton of issues with the old one. the long sample getting cut sort thing like you got, a spazzy card reader, lots of stuff

dude, try doing this: on the pad that has the long sample, press that pad then press mode + pad 7(program) then press F3)parameters) and change the "voice overlap" to poly. hit main and see if it still happens.
