I got Reason and everything hooked up right like how sparq does it, i export the wav from reason to my recording prog... Then I record my beat from the mpc 1000 to my recording pror. The prob is when im done the, reasons wav sounds slower than than the mpc wav, like it doesent match up like how it does when the mpc is controlling it all.

i searched the forums and couldn't find the answer.. this is my first post to, i never had to post before cause everything i wanted to know was already asked.

Sounds like you have the sampling frequency set wrong in Reason. Make sure reason is set to record at 44.1 kHz, not 48 kHz

cool i'll try that when i get home today.. hope it works cause i been messing with reason and my mpc for a about 3days. i finally got everything else to work then this lil prob happened. Thanx for the help, i don't doubt you but i'll be back if it doesn't

Aight I tried it and it still was kinda messed up.. It was already on 44.1 but i think my sound card is whats doing it. i have an m-audio audiophile an for some reason its says Max sampling 48000 and when i go in the options i can't find out how to change it and i through the manual away a long time ago. un less its something else.

i think the problem is the tempo of your reason song.

when you control reason from the MPC, it uses the MPC's tempo, but if you then record the MIDI into reason, and use the export to wav function, then reason uses it's default tempo (120BPM). when you record the MPC into your recording program, it will still be at its original tempo, which makes the two wav files sound out of sync.

what you would do, is change the tempo in the reason song to match that of the MPC.

please bear in mind though, this is ONLY if you record the MIDI tracks from the MPC into the reason sequencer, if you rewire reason into something like cubase or nuendo, and then record the audio from reason directly, whilst pressing play on the MPC, you shouldn't have a problem, plus you could also record the MPC's tracks too.

hope this helps.

well see what i do is export the wav from reasons and i listen to it in my media player to make sure its on point... then i record my mpc song format to my recording program via my sound card. then i mport the reasons wav and then match them up. but when i do that its sounds off.. i also did infact change the tempo on reasons to match the mpc 's 96.5 before i exported the wav form reasons

which recording program are you using? if you record them at different sample rates, some cheaper programs don't adjust for that.

the other thing you could try is making sure the start point of the MPC's wav is at the correct point.

what i mean by this, is if you press record on your recording program, and then press play on your MPC, there will be a bit of extra length on the beginning of the wav file which you don't need, and it will shunt the rest of the MPC's wav file to the right, which makes everything sound out of time.

hope this helps.

yeah i use magix studio 2005, cause i hate recording to cubase infact i never use cubase i think its called cubase sx or something my friend gave it to me. but i think its hard so i stick with what i been using for the last year and some change. yeah though i hahve changed the recording prog to 44.1 to. im at work right now though U.S.M.C, anyway i changed it last night and almost had it right till it got to the middle of the sound and thats when it sounded off. keep in mind i listened to the reason wav by itself and it had no flaws. then i listend to the mpc's beat it had no flaws but when i put the reasons wav on the first track and then the beat on the 2nd it was going good till it got to the middle.

sorry for the long post

hmm tough one, not sure then.

try importing both into cubase, see if that works. there is a good help file with cubase, so just refer to that if you get stuck.

good luck!

Ok I think I know whats going on. Your soundcard is recording it it 48000, but the software you a recording with is srt to 44100, so it is flagging the file as 44100. So in effect, what is happeneing is that 48 khz data is being played back at 44.1khz. You need to figure out how to set your soundcard to 44.1khz.
