Question for you 1k heads

I recently read that the 1k has no MTC option. How do you sync your tracks to protools and related programs?

midi clock, had it working with cubase, ab live and flstudio with no probs.

Do you still need a blank bar wit midi clock?

if your settings are correct in PT you wont need a blank bar. mine sync so sweet wit no pops

never used PT, but i've always left a blank bar.

..but come to think about it, i've been syncing to ableton a lot recently and it it seems to drop in straight away without hesitation.

when using my dps12i, it def needs that blank bar tho. if i remember right, cubase does also.

i really dont need that blank bar, always worked fine. pt, dunno, but i
couldn't think it's any different. actually recently i've rec'd my old beats
to comp via cubase and been amazed on how easy it really is (and fast).

i mainly use nuendo (no blank bar) but when i do use pro tools, i still don't need a blank bar in front. midi clock..... never had a problem with it.

I have Pro Tools but haven't tried snycing the MPC w/ it, but Live5 syncs right up no problem. I've never had to put a blank bar in the begining.

so with midi on the 1000 i can have all my tracks seperated on a computer to better tweak the sound and what not?

by syncing up your mpc to recording software, you can track out each all the tracks on your mpc seporately into the recording software... and yer, mixing down and tweaking the isolated audio tracks audio in software is great because you can then use whatever plugins you have at your disposal.

umm...i thought so. i wasnt sure because i dont know anyone who uses an mpc 1000.. I need to come up on a new computer then, maybe a homeinvasion in the good part of town. Maybe a laptop would be better, cuz then i can just get in the car but a desktop i would have to carry it out and load it so that would be hard to jack.....

.anyone sync their mpc with a laptop here?

you can actually do that without midi. using some form of midi sync is just a way to line up your tracks to whatever point you want in your software. you would use the assignable outs to do what you are asking. midi just help keep it tight.

i use the 4 assianble outs to my teac 4-track recorder. thats what i do, but using a computer to mixdown would be sick.

yeah it is. that's why i don't really use the effects that are in the mpc that much. when i track out to nuendo, i use nuendo's effects.
