The black 1000

THIS JUST IN.......

for those of you who are in the states and want one, the black 1000s are going to start to become available in stores by sometime next week.

THE BLACK MPC1000 THAT WILL BE SHIPPING IN THE US WILL COME STANDARD WITH THE HDM10 BUT NOT WITH 128MB RAM

Just wanted to note Akai is still giving away free RAM according to their website:

That's badass it's gonna come with the hard drive bay. I have yet to pick one up.

Word.. I'd like to know this as well.

i was told that the kit would come available sometime between the first quarter and the middle of the second quater of this year. (between march and may) price is still undetermined.

my personal guess is it will not be a kit (per say) but rather replacement parts for the black 1k. and will be sold as such. as it is now, the replacements for the side panels are around $18 and the top panel is $55 so the black parts will be the same price.

also, the black top panel will not have the blue ring around the screen like we have now. so that's good.


in fact, some stores may get the black 1ks by tomorrow. they are in transit to stores as we speak.

i'm not sure abou the rest of the world. but it will follow suit as all other releases. first japan, then the US, then the rest of the world.

That free RAM offer expired 12/31.

..sparq...hey!....Do you know where I can get the black side panels, black CF card insert (bay), and the black topcover (with front panel piece)???

I would'nt mind paying a little to transform my nearly 2 year old MPC!!

Do I have to go through Akai, or do you think my local guitar center can order those parts??.....

you're in CA that's why you got it when you did. they are all being shipped from cali. and works its way east.

My neighborhood Guitar Center ordered mine on Tuesday, and said I should have it by Monday.

recently traded my dusty 2kxl for a shiny new 1k. in my opinoin tha 1k is much better than tha 2kxl. O.S. 2.1 sick! new to the mpc1000 forum, good stuff on here! lovin the tutorials and sound kits. props!

does any know if the buttons and dials are removable ( replacable )?

i know the black body kit isn't availible yet but, when it's released does anyone know if we will be able cop grey buttons, siders and dials?

i'm thinking about chrome plating my blue cover but, i want to install all the black and grey hardware.

i don't care about color.
