32nd's, is there any way to program 1/64 patters? its not a big deal but it is useful sometimes.
YeS! and this is something that's not gonna be in the manual.
here's what you do--say you want your tempo to be 100. use what's called double resolution. up your tempo to 200! this will turn 8th notes into 16th notes, 16th to 32, and so on. in this way you will have 64th notes quantised.
the other way is to record a quantised track of 32nd notes and then duplicate the notes within the track, offsetting the duplicated notes by the ticks necessary to make a solid 64th note patterns.
2nd question - check out my stuff at
http://www.myspace.com/nymantics. it's not really techno, but it is somewhat advanced sampler usage in a kind of prog hop sense.
i'd also like to mention that the mpc series is most well known for hip hop. HOWEVER - this is incredibly misleading, because i've found that a lot of hip hop producers on these forums are only tapping the top of the mpc iceberg. SO MUCH MORE can be done with an mpc than what the majority of hip hop producers are doing with them, ESPECIALLY the mpc 1000.
not that house and techno won't swing the same way, i'm not making a genre statement, but rather i'm scolding users who really aren't sinking their teeth into their instrument.
