is it expensive to replace a CF drive?

Are you overwriting your files when you save?

this is known to cause issues.

explain the problem further

you could buy a replacement through VST but you may not need to quite yet.

when you save

do not overwrite

delete everything off the card - then save

problem should be solved.

let us know if you still have issues past this point

people talk about this bug quite a bit

hmm - if you can - hook it up to the pc and copy all the files - then delete everything from the card - load some other .wav files on it and see if you can load those on the mpc - if not - you may have a problem

if it works then take the loss and move on

Reformatted on PC.
Put it in the MPC, saved the CASTA_1 sample.
Put it back in my card reader in the computer, corrupt already, name comes up as [email protected]@v or suchlike.

Then I put a folder with a project I backed onto the computer yesterday onto the CF. Looks fine when viewing it on the card reader. Then I put it into the MPC and it looks corrupt again :(

This is rubbish :(
Must be the CF reader in the MPC that f***in things up?

Rephrase, I hope it's the internal cf reader and not something worse.
Please Help!!

If all files are coming up corrupt then we may have a problem.

it could be the card - the pc - or the 1k fukkin things up for ya

if you can try formatting a diff card on a totally diff computer and then load up a sample once again.

if you then try to load up the sample and its still messed up - then blame the 1k

how long have you had the 1k?

are you able to just return it and replace it?

Tried all that.
Seems like it's the MPC :(
Guess the MPC's cardreader is mashed.
Just ordered my HD kit, gonna give up on the CF i think:(

gl with the hd

This is a complete guess, and maybe a completely stupid one, but I think that the MPC1k uses the Windows FAT32 file system - is it possible that there's some issue with interfacing this to your Mac?

Do the file names that you save from the MPC look corrupted in the MPC itself before you try them in the card reader?

yeah they look corrupted in the mpc but not in the mac.
I'm losing faith now.
Does anyone know how hard/expensive it is to replace the cf drive in the mp?
