Hi

If you read through the chapter summary and full chapter listing you'll see everything that is covered in the book - as you can see, rather than just describe 'features' of the MPC1000 like the manual does, it actually shows you how to use those feature in real life, practical situations and hopefully opens your eyes to the wider possibilities with the machine.

So it really is a completely different 'beast' - it's more like an instructional DVD but in ebook format and with 10,000 times more information.

Read the chapter summary

I'll probably get the 2500 one when it comes out. Hope it's not too long.

Tutor, with the 2500 it's likely that new features will be added in a future update. Will free updates be available explaining the new features for people who have bought the book now?

Not sure when the 2500 version will come out, it will depend on how successful the MPC1000 version is. As long as I make decent return on the 1000 version, the 25000 shouldn't take too long to convert over as the OS is virtually identical.

But if Akai are bringing out a lot of new features for the MPC2500 OS within the next 2 or 3 months, I would hold back ebook publication until these features come out and incorporate them into the first version of the MPC2500 book.

Well, I bought it yesterday and I have to give them credit, it is definitley better than I thought. I considered myself to be pretty knowledgable with the machine, but even in the beginner sections I found time saving tips I did not know you could do before. All in all, I think there is something in here for everyone. I liked the fact it was well-written and there were things I was pulling my hair out thinking it was just me, and the book clearly states issues and bugs and whatnot. I recommend it. Its only 40 bucks.

GAH

not saying its not initially worth 40 bucks - if it was 30 Id buy it.

may get the eq and drum layering guides just to get some further info on the subject.

40 bucks for a crappy e-book? What is the world comming too. If it was availible on a hard or paper back format then i would understand, but for an e-book? thats ridiculas. Imma make tutorials and give em out for FREE!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I hear you on this solah - 40 bucks is over priced in my eyes but Im trying to be respectful just due to the fact that he took the time to actually make the book and the work it takes to maintain this site.

30 bucks - I bet it sells like crazy

but I am not saying to change the price - just bargaining.

You know, I really resent that kind of throw away, moronic comment about my work. Tonight I was on a high celebrating the fact that I'd finally published this book after 12 months hard work creating it (and having to effectively spend the past few months rewriting it when OS 2.1 came out). And in the last three months, I've spent every waking hour finishing off this book only for you to come along and completely trash all that hard work in one mindless forum post.

I really cannot express the hurt and depression I feel when a member of my own forums would try to hurt me like that and call all my hard work 'crappy' without a second thought
