connecting mpc1000 with reason???

hello, i've watched sparq's video on mpc and reason, i did what he shows but i still have a problem, possibly a connection-problem. I'm using Reason 3.0 with a usb connection to my Edirol keyboard. I have the midi out of the keyboard running into the midi in of my MPC. My keyboard is able to trigger sounds in Reason. The problem is i can only hear these sounds in reason, whereas i'd like to hear them trough my mpc. what can i do?

go to your local black market surgeon and get a new brain.

get a mixer.

sorry if i sound stupid but i'm new into this mpc-stuff and i'm from belgium. what i want is exactly what sparq shows in the video; to use the reasonsynths together with my mpc, do i really have to buy a mixer? i know i can sample these sounds with a audio cable, but that's not what i want. Yupla

that's no problem. you will find that you will need a way to mix the two lots of audio signals (PC and MPC) together to pass them through your speakers. also i would have the midi out of your keyboard to a midi in on your mpc, then from a midi out to the midi in on your pc. that way you can use the mpc's sequencer to record and play back the notes you play.

let's get this straight, all i have is an mpc 1000, an edirol midi-keyboard, and a laptop running reason, i'm using Reason 3.0 with a usb connection to my Edirol keyboard. Can it be that I still need something like a M-audio uno to do the job. Sorry again if this are silly questions....

ahh i see. what sparq does in his videos is have the mpc in between the keyboard and the pc. which you can't do because your keyboard is usb. when he presses the pads on his mpc in the videos, the mpc is sending midi notes to reason, which triggers the sounds. the sound is not coming from the mpc.

yes my keyboard is usb-connected to my pc, is that a problem, do i have to buy a new keyboard? or will a m-audio uno make a difference? All i wanna do is use my mpc together with the great sounds of the malstrom, can somebody help me,

which Edirol keyboard do you have?

If your key board has a MIDI in (some of the Edirol ones do), you could go:

MPC MIDI out-> Edirol MIDI in -> USB into reason.

As mentioned previously, if you want to hear Reason's audio at the same time as the MPC, a mixer would be handy, or you could feed the audio out of the computer to the audio ins of the MPC and setup input monitoring on the MPC's mixer page.

so, you want to sequence reason using the mpc? to do that you may have to have the midi out of the keyboard going to the mpc and the midi out of the mpc going to the keyboard. then use the keyboard's midi input in reason rather than the keyboard itself. (if you can do that, i'm not familiar with that keyboard ) basically you need to change the routing of the keyboard so that the notes you play on it go through the mpc, allowing it to recod them. as well the mpc needs to be able to send the note data to reason to tell it what to play.

no, i mean within reason, when you select your midi input, if the keyboard displays two separate midi inputs, one for the keys themselves, the other for the midi input port on the back. i shouldn't think it would, though, my remote 25 doesn't. does the edirol recieve power from the usb port? do you have a mains power adapter for it?

yeeps, so i want to sequence reason, like sparq shows in his vid. i have tried what you said; edirol midi out --mpc midi in
mpc midi out--edirol midi in
edirol usb--laptop usb
then in reason i've done what you said about selecting edirol midi in, plus all the shit sparq shows in his vid...still it doesn't work, what is it that i don't have? help me, so frustrating

so, you are sequencing in the mpc. is it possible that the edirol is only sending midi info to the pc? try loading a program on the mpc and playing the keys on the edirol to see if anything comes out the mpc.

hey man, i read some threads on other sites and i figured out that i actually DO need a usb-interface, like an m-audio uno (that's what i asked you for a couple of messages back remember).
thanx for your help but you better learn some more about the magic world of the mpc cause you don't know shit about it you sucker (haha)
