if not, please do me a favor. reinstall 2.1 and let me know if it says "BootBlock ver:1.03" when it first starts to update and how many files does it copy? i gave 3.0 a go but honestly i am happier with 2.1 so i went back but i don't remember it saying "bootblock" before and the word itself doesn't sound very good. thanks in advance.

it should be the first line of text you see once you hold down window on boot to update os. thanks.

in my opinion, i have not and will not upgrade to this os no matter how many new features it may present... i'm not downing anyone who has or will download and use this but Pad.... maybe what happened to you is a result of using this upgrade and the people who made it, didn't take into account that people would revert back to the akai version of 2.1

although i can honestly see this becoming something like what happened to the mpc3000 when people created 3rd party software but everyone used that due to the fact that akai stop supporting that mpc.

akai is not finished with the 1000 yet so i'll wait.

so does that mean that you tried to re-install your os and it didn't say that?

just to clarify, it would be on the first line of text when the text starts scrolling, before you actually press rec to start the update.

I did not go for the update (only did window + boot), i am still on os 1.07, and i am not so keen to try again buggy 2.1 and then go back to 1.07. sorry.

but if something went wrong with yours, i think it would be pretty obvious while using the mpc. if it works, then it works :)

Thats wierd I've never seen that when loading any of the os's..I'm currently at 2.1, and plan on staying unless Akai comes out with something else..2.1 has ran pretty much flawless for myself..and I'm very satisfied with it...

i'll wait for akai to release something official

i mean we all waited for 2.1 for a long time, anxiously for the new features, i dont see why we cant wait for the bug fixes and hopefully some new features

yeah, everything is running well so i guess i didn't fuk it up but i'm not gonna take any more chances with my baby. i would be bummed out cuz i can't afford a new one. i'd still be interested to know the number of files copied just to make sure there is nothing lingering if anyone is willing to re-install thier os 2.1? it doesn't take but a min. peace.
