What Keyboards do you use with your MPC1K?

What Keyboards do you use with your MPC1K? I was just wondering because I want to get a synth keyboard/workstation to go with the 1k, and I was wondering what are some good ones. I am looking at the Korg TR 61 Key right now, something under $1000

I use a Yamaha Mo 6, E-mu Mo'Phatt, E-mu Orbit, and a Yamaha TX-81z. I would suggest you get a rack module and a midi controller. Getting a keyboard with a sequencer is overkill because the MPC is a sequencer. You can get the Korg Triton rack and a M-Audio controller for the same price as a Korg TR-61, and you'll get way more to work with.

defly don sleep on that one if yr lookin for a good entry level synth.

yea the Micron is a killer little synth. the Microkorg would be cool if it had real sized keys.

My live setup: I use Emu X Board61 + Roland SH-32 virtual-analog synth module (4 part, 32 voice polyphony) with my MPC1000.
With this setup i can rock the place !

My setup for computer works: i use BUZZ analog-modular synth seq software with vsti's controlled by the Emu XBoard61.

Okay so with the Micron, I will be able to add basses and stuff like that to my drum tracks on the 1k?

for a thousand buc's, several ways you can go. 1. spend wise. 2.get the most out of what you want........

You can get a keyboard with all the bells and whistles,Triton,Roland,Yamaha,and then use Patches (PCG's) to tweak a thousand plus sounds and I mean Millions,but you want even come near that.or you can get a good classic sound module,like Proteus2000 with the MO-Phatt chip inside which will cover getting the Mo-Phatt module it self. You'll have two modules in one (P2K-Mo-Phatt).You'll need the midi Controller keyboard,which should cost at least $150-$500 for a new one.

yeah dude, you'll be able to add basslines with the micron, leads, anything you want.

the pre-sets are pathetic and it's quite an arduous process altering patches. there are program editors for PC tho - haven't found any for the mac platform... anybody seen these?

but it has a good sound, the keys are half decent (much better than the microkorg) and it's not too pricey. you can split the keyboard so you can sequence basslines and melodies or whatever on the mpc and just stand back n rap.

plenty of good options though. just go to every music store in your hood and play everything you can, even stuff outside your price range.
