Just curious! I really want to know how many people there are that had the 1k from when it first came out and never had a pad problem? I got one of the first ones released with the gig bag and all. I never had a pad problem and I'm praying I won't in the near future.

This has been asked quite a few times already... there was even a poll taken...

I have still experienced no failures since I got the machine in '04. Poor quality hardware, but no outright failures.

So you're trying to say the black ones are showing more pad problems?

I got my blue box used from this woman in Brooklyn, side panel's nearly falling off, damn thing looks like it was mistaken for a toaster in spots, despite her "mint condition" advertisement and unsuccessful attempts to raise the price (especially without a power cord, USB cord, or manual)...

And I've yet to have any pad problems whatsoever.

How would the design of the MPC differ from the blue to black box if its just the shell they changed? Or did they alter the hardware?
