How Often Do You Have To Fix your pads on your 1000

Ive heard different stories from a lot of people. Some have the original 1000s and never had a single pad issue and then some that just say the pads die within 6 months! I want a 1k but I dont want to have to change them every 3 months.

I got mine about a month after it was released. I bring it to work with me every day. I use it all the time and have never had a pad isue. Some people say that hitting the pads hard has no effect on the pad life, but I disagree. I take care of all my stuff and it lasts. I can still load games on my original NES without blowing on them first.

I am hoping to take the same care with my 1000 but im curious because i dont want to have to deal with an issue like changing pads every few months id rather just get a 2k classic or something

Dude don't worry about the pads... I bought my 1k 2nd hand about 2 years ago and it has worked perfectly. If they ever stop working properly I'll just do the fix and have many happy years again with the machine.

cant help it the mp is just a box without the pads imo

damnn i never changed anything but soon am gonna like a few tho

I got one used on ebay and have no problems with the pads....and prime, I am jealous! For real, it takes me forever to get my NES games going...

I'm having the same mind block...I'm also wondering if its just the blue version that has the problem or did they approve anything with the black version..I mean i dont want to drop a $1,000 on something that is gonna fail on me within a year when I could find an 2000XL or even a 60 that lasts for 10 years+.

You shouldn't spend a grand on a 1000...you can find machines in great on ebay for around $600-$700 range. Unless you really have some phobia of buying used gear, there's no reason to buy new.

P.S., by the time your pads fizzle out on you, your guarentee will be gone.

true...there are some actual businesses on ebay that sell gear and do offer a guarantee which would be a good way to go.
