Blacker MPC

Hey has anybody noticed that the newer MPC 1K's have a black back panel instead of the cheap metal looking one?I know it's not that important but i was just wondering if anyone else has noticed these.

yeah, and the box is different as well. i have the 1st edition and the box is blue(i assume same as blue mpc1k).
the real question is; is the juice any sweeter?

i must have the newer one because my box was black and sexy as f*ck. anyone have a pic to compare the two mp's tho?

Haha was it sexy..WHat does the back of your MPC look and feel like?Is it plastic or metal?Does it scratch up really easy?

So the new back panels are plastic and black or black and metal?

Mine is black and metal. It doesn't seem to scratch easily (i won't try).
Looks much better than the older ones that's for sure.

Are you talking about the whole mpc or just the very back panel where the audio is?

I was actually talking about the backpanel but the whole mpc casing seems to be made of the same material (at least it looks and feels like it). So black and metal.

Sidepanels are plastic though.

yeah def all black got mine few days ago box was way diffrent then my first blue and red 1k back few years

The one I picked up has the black back wich also came with the new pads.
It also came in the sexy box with the new manuals.

If yours has a black back panel, it may have the new pads too

Just having the black back does not necessarily mean you have the upgraded pads. Read my post on how I got lucky on my new pads. I originally had the black MPC1000 with the silver back, my brother got an MPC that is ALL black, I recently exchanged my MPC1000 because I found out that guitar center sold me a floor model but told me it was new. My NEW mpc1000 is ALL black with new pads, but my bros has old pads. I heard Akai no longer makes the old pads so pretty much from here on out if you buy a brand new one shipped from the distributor it will have new pads. If you get one from a store that stocked them before the upgrade then youll probably get old ones.

by any chance do you know when the new ones shipped
i returned mine yesterday but they didn't have any in stock
so its coming from another guitar center that should be arriving tomorrow
the guy said that guitar center recieved their shipment of 1000's early oct
i hope i get the ones w/ the new pads
