ATTENTION ALL THE TECH PEOPLE

Hi everybody, i need your help. I've been having some serious issues with my mpc and have taken it in to the shop for repair. I got some questions for you tech people who know alot about the inside of the mpc 1000. If you could please respond i will IM you about it. Thanks

My suggestion is to post what you need so the responses can benefit everyone.

I rather speak to someone who is a qualified tech about it through IM so i can better explain what happened. An accident occured which resulted in me ruining my mpc. So Arzes, if you know anything about the electrical components in the mpc, please IM me.

You never will know until you post. Most of us here are not experts but we have cracked our cases a few times and know the way around.

Ok, so i accidently spilled a cup of water on the top of my mpc. I had a cup sitting right beside it and i guess while i turned around i bumped the table and knocked it over. The mpc started to make this little hissing noise so i unplugged it immedately. The water had already seeped through to the bottom. After a few hours i tried to turn it on and it wouldn't. So i know i'm a complete dumb *** for even setting a drink close to my mpc. I have it under store warranty and it's at the repair shop righ now. I told them i had no idea what happened to it and they said they would fix it. Does anybody think this is repairable? My guess is that it shorted out.

your mpc is in the right hands in the shop, that's something more than you can necessarily fix on your own.

Well actually its under warranty so it should be covered right? Do you think that the tech would see water damage?

I wouldn't be as embarrassed as the guy that tried a cracked version of JJ OS (edited in notepad) and ruined his MPC

Thanks man. I just hope that they can fix it or if they can't i hope the store i bought it from will give me a new one since i'm under warranty.

yea hopefully you get a new one with the pad upgrade built it. do warranties cover things like pouring water on your mpc? Im just curious as to what they do and do not cover. I bought a warranty for my car and when i took it in to get it fixed they slapped me with a list of things that the warranty doesnt cover, and the list specified every part of the car individually. thats why i dont fcuk with warrantys anymore.

Yeah, well when i took it in i didn't tell them what happened to it. I just played dumb about it and said it wouldn't turn on. I also took it in once it was completely dry. Thats why i'm wondering if any technician could see that water damage made it short out.

Yeah, they will probably be able to tell, but they might not care since they will get reimbursed for their warranty work anyway. They probably clownin you in the shop right now for thinking they wouldn't be able to tell.
