As some of you may know... i've undertaken quite a customization project with my MPC1000.
She is finished....
The whole process hasn't been without its hiccups, but nothing that couldn't be easily rectified.
here are some pics, i've included closeups at angles so you may see the flawless paintwork, my apologies if any pictures are of bad quality or blurry.
i want to give my personal thanks to Alex Badcock (christfutura) for his help and input on the project. Check out http://www.needlewerk.com for blue lcd screens and led lights etc. wooden side panels are due for the end of august!!!
peep this...

i've painted all buttons, sliders, the data wheel and cf card slot surround.
i've replaced the grey pads with black ones and also installed the stunning blue lcd screen from http://www.needlewerk.com
i've also got white led lights that will be installed at a later stage by a proffesional. (i'm taking a break from the customizing as i've been bustin my balls to start makin beats again!!!)
the blue screen: for me and any other MPC1000 user, i think this is amust buy. looks beautiful, easier on the eyes and way more responsive (you can navigate menus and such with the blue screen faster than the green)
the black pads: they are softer - FACT. the guy at vst told me the reason that akai produced these black pads was for the pad upgrade they will be selling (if the fukers ever get round to it) so they feel better on the fingers, kinda like the old mpcs. not to mention i think they look great on a white machine.
should anybody want any details on materials and methods used to do this, i will be more than happy to help. get at me.
also shout out to distorted techno, neartao, jbraudio, taxman, xibalba1875 and anybody else who held it down on the mpc1000 forum when the customization haters came a knockin'
hope you boys like it.
peace.
