i am still being a little hard on them
it's good that they finally solved the massive problem of their saving corruption (allegedly solved - i haven't tested it and i don't plan on testing another Akai software in my lifetime). again, i'll repeat, finally - this is 4 years after the 1k was released. it's about goddamn time.
programmers of the new akai software, if you're reading this, congradulations.
i realize the potential unseen complexities of your situation. i'd love to not blame you for Akai's code's inadequacies, past and present. it appears that you've been given more capacity as of late, and i commend you for it. i am so much more sympathetic to the artist who codes than the businessman who pays the programmer - in my experience, it's best when the two are one and the same (jj, justin frankel, et al).
i can only hope that you'll take a card from the programmers whose shoes you've attempted to fill (jj) and spend more time listening to your user base rather than your corporate superiors who may or may not know what deserves resources/attention. i realize this may be out of your hands, but do what you can.
