I had a 500 for sofa and moble use but it has some inherent problems with polyphony, mutes and effects.
Picked a 1k and so far no funny triggering like the 2500 used to do, so I'm still waiting to see how it holds up.
Still the 4k is the best feeling workflow (not perfect) but it's a big stationary unit.
JJ's XL OS looks interesting but just like OS2 was, you have to get your hands on it to see if you like it or not.

can't tell by your post if you this is what you meant, but the JJos2kxl is for the 1000, it's an updated version of JJOS2

I don't consider OS2 to be an updated OS1 and I don't consider XL to be an updated OS2.
All 3 have different directions and all have certain little things that are annoying.
That's one of the reasons I like the selectable Boot OS so you can use the one that fits what you are trying to do.
Personally I still don't care for OS2's main screen.

I have a blue one, and like it alot- but you're right...there's something about the black one that just seems new. I had one at the house for a day and didn't want to give it back!
