MPC known bugs

It has never happend to me. The clicking is due to the DC offset of your samples, so if you adjust your samples well, you won't heear any clicks. The Not triggering problem...is nothing to worry about. In the worst case, it will skip one sample on one loop, the loop after that it will play it.

thanks effekt. That is more reassuring. I think I am gonna go for the 1000. I have been using Reason lately and would like to add the 1000.

The noise occurs in the middle of the sample.

so, where are the updates, and wait lemme see, how do you update it, plug usb-cable to your computer and transfer the file to mpc1000 or what?

The clicks will occure wherever the sample is going too far away from the DC 0 position. In a wave editor you can easily see that happening. For each chanel (left, right) you have a line in the middle. This horizontal line represents DC O (no offset). If you see your wave going away (up or down): this is the DC offset. Then you can use the DC offset function to bring it to the middle.

everything is on the official AKAI MPC1000 web site. You can download the OS updates, and the instructions how to update.

Its very easy to get the OS's from the akaipro site to yur 1k that's not a prob!

Other than that, the price will probably go down $50-100 in about a year.

yes six u do. u d'load the OS, then transfer via usb to ur flash card. then from the flash card to ur mpc's internal memory.

Effekt. That's a good explanation for the corrupted sample. Now i like to know why this is happening in my mpc. Maybe you can tell me what i do wrong in the next steps:
1. i record a sample, the sample is ok
2. i adjust the endpoint, the sample is still ok
3. i use discard to get rid of the piece i don't want, now there's an annoying noise in the middle of the sample.

that happend to me to one time but other than that i've had no problems.

This should not happen everytime you trim your sample. Do you have the latest OS?

I use the latest OS and don't get me wrong it doesnt happen every time i trim a sample. I saw some posts on this forum from guys with the same problem, a while ago and thought this was a software bug. I have no technical knowledge of electronics but now i think it may be a hardware problem, some bad connection or so.
