so what I'm doing, step-by-step:
power up MPC
load up a melodic sample
assign sample to, say, pad A8.
trim the sample so that it contains a single sound, for example A.
Full levels on
16 levels -> Tune setting, Pad A8, Original Key pad 4.
1/8 quantization with 50% swing On.
press overdub&play, get ready to rock the pads
depress note repeat
depress pads A4, A11 and A16 for one measure,
depress pads A11, A14 and A16 for half a measure,
depress pads A9, A11 and A16 for half a measure.
Hey presto, you have two measures of chords. Or at least should have.
what I get recorded is two measures of pad A8 with a +120 tuning.
Which sounds pretty dull, to be honest..
