Exactly what Turntable do I need for my MPC 1000?

I'm admittedly very new to producing, but I don't think my samples are sounding thin... And I use the 1k not the 4 or 5... I'm going to post up my first production on here... Be gentle though guys don't tear it apart too hard, because I know allot of the guys around here beats are way sick... I'm just learning, but I think the samples sound fine sampled straight into the mp... Let me know.....

So does that mean it sounds like shit? I got an adapter that is RCA to 1/4", I ran that in to the Record In, Right... Then when I record I adjust the mode to mono r, and turn up the threshold. Of course there is a ground wire running out of my TT, and I just screw that into the screw between record in and stereo out.

1. Your turntable seem to have a swichable output phono/line. But the manual is not very clear about this. The sound of your beat is not like without RIAA but it also sounds kind of strange (and I dont talk about the phase problem here). Maybe it has to do with the cardrige you use (I guess its the one that already came with the TT. These seem to be bad sounding from what I've read)

2. Your turntable got 2 outs (left AND right), Your MPC got 2 Ins (left AND right). Can you imagine what that mean??

Your connection with the adapter is the reason for the phase problem. I dont want to go too deep here but this is how your song sound like when someone listen to it on a mono source or with the mono switch ON on his mixer or amp

I appreciate that knowledge... Thanks! Do you think this would also correct the phase issue you speak of? Also I don't see any means of switching the output of the turntable. I'm still curious about this preamp/mixer thing though, because I've sample off a text I recieved on my phone using an 1/8" jack to RCA, into the adapter I previously mentioned in the same manner, and that sample didn't come out sounding thin either.... So is a preamp or mixer really necessary?

Alright... makes sense now. Sorry about the thread jack, but I have another question, another beat I made which I didn't sample from sounds janky mono like that other one did, but I have the out puts ran from the back of the mp to my fast track pro, 1/4" to 1/4" no adapters, each side ran separately... Can someone help me with the cause of this?
