Currently, I have a sequence in the MPC that will hit each drum in my drum module, or play a few notes across my synth. While that plays, I have Cool Edit/Audition or Wavelab grabbing the audio into 1 large file. When the sequence is through playing, I use the same program to *try* & extract each sound as it's own file(ie- below 70db for 1 sec means sound is finished, sound starts when over 60db). This takes some hand-holding of the software, especially if there's long reverb trails with an LFO that looks like a new sound. Then I build up an MPC .PGM based on those samples.
But lately, I'm building multi-layered samples of synths, so that when a filter is swept based on velocity, I can emulate that using multi-layers that are velocity switched, or use q-link to emulate a similar effect manually. All this means more than 4 times the work to get my samples into the MPC.
So, I'd like to set everything up, push "go", and comeback a while later with my samples extracted and a .PGM ready to go...
