Sampling on the mpc is a major part for me, I'll hook it up to my portable turntable and get something from a crazy record. Or take it to my TV with outputs and sample a bad sitcom laugh track, not to mention taking it to my College Library and getting all kinds of stuff from cds and tape(they have players and outlets in tables, noone ever uses em). If I don't get the timing right I always figure it out in trim in less than 5 tries. Extract is also awsome(I think its better to choose the proportions you divide anyway)
If you have a SAMPLER i say sample with it
Limitations people are placing on this machine are really in their head. I make almost all of my beats internally on the MPC with no juggling around to the PC(I might just edit mixed beats there before I do vocals)
