Well no not a lot in my book. But it's not so unusual I guess, there is a precedent for it. Guitarists for example, or electric guitarists at least, often choose an instrument on how it looks, rejecting possibly a better sounding instrument with more features for a prefered style and colour.

Maybe for some folks if they find their instrument more aesthetically pleasing they're more likely to use it?

Yeah, those people are called 'morons'.

me too, she's grown on me. She has done so much for me, why would i try to change her? care about your sound not how she looks like. if you want it to look like an mpc 60 then just get an mpc 60.

I can't stand how ugly this thing is.
I need to do something about this... anybody doing anything to theirs yet? (aesthetically that is)

You're an idiot for repainting the thing if you don't make a screen to put the letters and button labels back on..

or someone who just don't give a **** and already knows their mpc well enough to not have to look and see where stuff is

or you could write em back in with felt tip

Well, to each his own. The 60 layout is much more functional and less cluttered than any other mpcs.

dagwoodmatsu wrote:I think the mpc 60 looks ugly. 2000xl is the only one that looks better than the 1000 to me. All the rest have the pads nestled amongst a mass of buttons. If you change your MPC, make it look like something cool such as a decaying tenement (the pads could be the windows)

There are lotsa ppl here who have painted their mpc1ks. I took the red panels on mine off and painted them black. I like it much better that way.

id go all black like the linn 9000 or go for the grey mpc 60 to pay homage to the gods and forge a roger linn signature lol

but if u ask me the 1000 looks ill and is easily the best looking mpc

Forat would charge you just about as much to give it a make over as it did for you to actually buy the damn thing. I think that would be a waste of money IMO. i don't plan to do anything to mine but if i did decide to do something, it would only be the sides and the card reader cover. or probably spray some clear coating with a little silver glitter on it to give it that metalic candy look.
