...the 2KXL manual from official site. Has all the info you'll need on zoning.

Let me know if that helps.

Man I look forward to it - so damn tired of running all my samples through ReCycle (though it's a great application, I just wanna do all te work on my mpc)

Don't know if the news has been mentioned here before. Couldn't find anything on it.

i think this is a great thing :), but i chop all my samples on my mpc as it is, using extract, i love it, zonings nice to, itl be a nice change, i hate using computers for making beats

i'm happy enough with the extract feature, but i'll happily take zoning if they wanna throw it in there. good stuff.

Funny you should mentiion lazy... Cuz I think it'd be nice if they would add a feature to quickly assign samples to pads instead of scrolling through hundreds of samples as you have to when using extract.

I thought that it was only the 2500 that actually assigned the samples automatically - does 2000XL do that as well?

What would that be?

pff, saving time is part of a workflow which is very personal but very important. Some encounters, like chopping manually, can destroy one man's work, while the other will have the time of his life (workflow wise).

Limitations are not always a good thing.

this is good news. i know how to chop using extract, but it takes much time. i'd love to see the "real" zoning... :)

i chop faster using extract than using hte computer, it takes less time to do it in the mpc, than to put it on the computer, and chop there, to much time

metafor wrote:If and when this does come through, it will be pretty cool. I will laugh at the peeps who weren't patient enough to wait and see what the new update for the 1k will be like, and then decide if the 2500 is a better choice or not. Its all good the 1k is great for me, so anything extra (timestretch, zoning, hard drive, are just added bonuses) to an already great machine.

i agree with you. i mean the last update was like 8 or 9 months ago so you can assume that they have been working on something big.sparq has told us we could expect the os update within the next two or so weeks so damn things are definately looking better and better(than it already is) for the mpc 1000 or should i say mpc 1000xl? haha jus kiddin

The only Lazy buggers are Akai for not developing their sh!t before they put it out and making cats wait for 2-3 flowers years for the functionality of their machines to be commensurate with the asking price, and still be sub par with the technology that is being used by other companies.

word up man, you got that right

ive had my work flow inturrupted so many times, i know what its like. whether i get inturruptions or run into unaccounted for troubles... iif i loose my lack of concentration, i usually never finish, as i lost my train of thought and creativity.

its those spuratic moments you get an idea in your head and want to quickly pump it out in beat format you have to take advantage of.

Yea after reading this I think I'm going to put the brakes on selling my 1k. I hope this all happends soon. An internal HD, zoning, and who the hell knows... maybe even timestretch. This will make the 1k almost perfect.
