Elektron products look really great. I got a Monomachine on my wishlist. The sequencers are really tight on them and they play nice with MPC's, supposedly. I'm going to see a buddy of mine this thurs rockin an MPC 1k and Monomachine live.

played on one in the shop (when i was buying my 1K). it was really good fun, seems like a nice machine. didnt get to deep into it cos i was just waiting for them to get my mpc up from the storeroom, but it seemed pretty cool. i'd love a machinedrum, but i aint getting a new kit for a long while for sure.

Word. When I run out of things to do with the MPC, then I'll think about adding on. Can't understand all this griping about the new OS - like half these fools exhausted the possibilities of the old one....

I told you IT IS DIFFICULT TO FIND DECENT ANSWERS WHEN THE SEARCH FUNCTION DOES NOT LET YOU SEARCH TITLES and so you get thousands of hits back and 99.9% of those aren't what you are looking for. This will be my last post so take care!

Well Folks......looks like we have a winner!

i said i wouldn't post again, but i'm sorry...i just don't get it. i mean, i have a high post # in other forums as well, where i also really know what i'm talking about...and i come in here and everyone is a jerk. it always amazes me when people equate their post count with their knowledge. if you really wanted to be helpful, which is what these forums are for, you'd just answer the questions. who do you think you are impressing by being a jerk? do you sleep better at night? do you cum harder when you jerk off? get a life.

donato: stay cool man, why not download a manual and read :
www.akaipro.com
keep in mind that mpc is a small dedicated computer.
there is ram and something like harddisk.
good luck.

---

I have MnM works with my mpc1k.
MnM has grid but only 6 tracks, limited polyphony and no realtime rec.
Mpc has 64 tracks, 32 tracks midi out.
Sometimes I record midi sequences from MnM to mpc.
and MnM also benefits from being sampled to mpc.

I really recommend a MD or MnM to work with mpc, they both offer more sequencing capability and sound possibilities.

peace.

RAM is cleared once you turn off the unit. compact flash cards are permanent.

you require RAM because it reads and writes at an insanely faster rate allowing sounds to be streamed, compared to compact flash cards where it is not possible.

So, you gotta save on a CF Card? Or, can you save on those internal harddiscs, that will come.. (40 and 80 gig) i think..?

when you install the hard drive, you will have a choice on where to save your work, pgms seqs and samples. either save on the CF card or on the hard drive. as stated b4, the hard drive does not replace the 128mb of ram.
