Question: Moving multiple track events to their own track

Go to SEQ EDIT and at the top where it says COPY, change it to MOVE, then select the pad you want to move, and the track you want to move it to.

cheers, I'll experiment with both that and pad assign, did a sync up to Sonar last nite all went well but I only got 2 ins + SPDIF in atm till i get a better soundcard...pce

The technique you guys are talking about is more applicable to the something like the 2000xl. A lot of mixes were done primarily in the box. Only one note can be assigned per pad but other pads can be assigned to be triggered simultaneously. Assigning the snare to a different track meant that rather than have to increase the volume on the 2, possibly three induividual pads in the mixer, you could increase the volume of all pads relative to the mix by increasing the track volume.
Now I dont have much (read any) exerience on the 1000 but the pad assign is different and prior to OS2 it didnt have individual track volumes so obviuosly there was/is no need for the same approach.
But if you wanna experiment with mutes in a sequence/somg you can only achieve this if you have sounds assigned to their own track, if you are muting via the track mute window that is. So it still has a place.

you don't have to do that because dealing with the 1k, each pad can be separated when you actually track out into the computer. some people (i used to be one of them) work that way... on the mpc, kick on track 1, snare on track 2, etc... but now i do all of my drums on 1 mpc track. then when i track out into my software, i just assign the pad with my kick to assignable out 1, snare to out 2, etc... i'll use different mpc tracks if i have samples or other instruments in my sequence.

Hey Sparq... I gotta question about this... Im recording into cubase with a firepod. when i sent seperate tracks to the assiganble outs they were SOOO much louder then the stereo out and i couldn't turn it down. You know what the deal is?

are you running this on a MAC or PC? and are you using the cubase LE? if not, which version of cubase?
