no i haven't had any lagging, my pads work fine, and the discard function works perfectly fine.

did you try to reset your mpc ? (there is a key combination to do on boot, cannot remember it though)

i think that the lag could be the data in the ram becomming fragmented if the ram being filled a lot. in this case it would be kind off normal to have a lag.

I've had this problem too, on a few samples - BUT I found out, that it has something to do with the loop lock/unlock function.

choose a sample where the extract feature doesn't work - then go in the wav trim window to the looping section - look at the lock symbol.

I don't know which setting was the right one - try both.

either locked or unlocked will do the trick - then extract and it should work fine.

thing is, i never use the loop function, so i never touch those settings and not sure how they would change themselves for the extract not to work????? but i'll def try that next time. thx!

happens towards the end of making a beat sometimes just when hitting play or play/rec. i've never experianced it do it for 20sec myself, more like 2-3.

never tried resetting the mpc.

i've had the MPC lag for like 2 seconds occasionaly between screens, but nothing to get pissed about.

yer the lagging isnt a major prob for me neither, when the extract feature decides that it doesnt want to come up to play that can def be very annoying tho.

that said, the great thing about the 1k is its portablity, which in turn makes it a popular choice for those who have live setups. now a 3 sec lag for them could cause all sorts of nasty problems..

It may not be to you, but $900 is a lot of money to a lot of people. There are people reading this forum right now trying to decide whether to spend their hard-earned (or sometimes not hard-earned) money on an MPC, and they deserve to get both sides of the story.

What comes off as "bitching" to you may very well be avenues of interest to explore for others.

This thread started as a real discussion about lag on MPC1000s, but then samuraisam and thepillage start sniping at each other like two catty high school girls.

Mods: Why don't you start banning the members that are blatantly engaging in this type of behaviour (It's pretty obvious who the guilty are in this thread) instead of locking threads?

It is not the forum that needs to be cracked down on, it's some of the members.

yes well said people need to start reading properly, because all the negative points on the mpc 1000 have been covered more times than michael jacksons penis with a 9 year olds bottom.

I've already said that, i'm not pissed off about people posting the same shit different stink, notice thepillage's signature, and how he called me an AKAI employee? he obviously has something against akai, yet he bought the mpc 1000 himself.

I hope its a hardware problem so if the os 2.0 drops their wont be anymore problems errupting more then their already is.

As far as the Blk MPC i got, i didnt have to pay for it, it was a connection i had, he owed me one.

I think it might be the RAM imma switch it from my blue mpc and put in it my black one to see if it solves the problem. Memory leak maybe? Any suggestions?
