How long did it take.

well for me it was easy, i had i 2k xl before.
but i can suggest you to be patient and try to experiment with your blue/black one, in some days you´ll be able to step forward and achieve the goals you have in mind

I got mine 2 weeks ago, i read the manual and i have no problem 2 use my mpc1000.

the 1k forum is plagued by cosmetic questions, off topic comments, stuff that belongs in prod. tech and mpc studio environment, as well as WAY too many incredibly basic operational questions.


the 1k is the cheapest mpc, which i link to the number of people who buy an mpc but don't want to put for the effort to be a samplist. hence the chaotic quality of the 1k forums, as well as the bad reputation of the mpc1000.

they're not necessarily idiotic, just...i don't know. they're what i would best call early questions...basically, like if you just started hanging out with a girl and you ask her name, how old she is and where she lives...those are questions you should find out right away, you shouldn't have to ask her friends about her.

if you're INTERESTED, don't ask for hand holding. it honestly gets me down on the mpc to know that so many people have em. it's no longer so much a highly specialized tool to have - but it is still a highly specialized tool to USE.

well i dont really have any issues using my mpc, but i dont come to these forums looking for answers. i dont have a 'studio', i dont have any other mpc besides the 1000. yet im supposed to scour the other forums looking for information relevant to me, a mpc1000 user. the mods tell people to 'search before they ask' but has anyone actually tried searching?? i tried searching for some info on input thru... found the question on the OS 2.0 joys & pains thread but since the mods made it all one topic, i couldn't find the solution i was looking for and couldn't be bothered to search thru over 150 pages of posts. yeah i admit i see a lot of pointless questions on this forum daily.. but i also see a lot more energy going into telling people 'go search, read the manual, blah blah' when they could of just said 'press this pad and go in that mode.... reference the manual for the rest' or simply not responded at all. I read a post on the mpc1k forum here at work and by the time I get home its been moved to some entirely unrelated forum.

if the forums weren't separated by model then it would be an entirely different story. but i dont understand, there is a specific mpc1000 forum and whenever someone asks something thats not directly related to the mpc1000 and ONLY the mpc1000 then it gets moved. this makes it great for us users that are looking to find out what other people are doing with their mpc1000. lets face it .... the majority of people are idiots & when you get a large amount of people together, the idiots will speak louder than the smart ones.... so really if dealing with all of these 'newbie questions' is such a problem... if playing drums/syncing synths/sampling vinyl/whatever else you do no your mpc1000 isn't mpc1000 then i have no clue what is. sorry for the rant but from an outsiders perspective, i visit this site everyday on my lunch break and i see the same people bitching about the questions people ask. i am surprised you guys have enough time to make beats for yourself.

To learn myself how to use the machine in itself took me only like 1 week or something. To learn how to make good beats with it, well... haha.
