MPC 1000 Sequencer OVERRATED !!!

I have seen so many of these types of threads in Looptalk with FL users saying the same thing about Fruityloops. I use FL5 but the MPC has greatly improved my workflow when working with samples and Reason. Both FL and the MPC are really great products and as with any piece of equipment or software you need to learn your stuff to make the best out of what you have.

Some of the best Hip-Hop records in history were done on the SP1200 which is a dope sampler but very limited in comparison to what's out there these days.

Would you honestly want a sequencer like FL or other software programs. I personally use reason with dual moniters. I would not want that on a little mpc screen. Pretty much the only thing you need to do when sequencing is to pick what sequence gos where. That's all you have to do when sequencing. I haven't used any other hardware so i can't compare but i don't see how anything could be much easier without a computer sized screen.

I use Reason with the MPD16 pads, but I will more than likely buy a MPC 1000. I downloaded the manual, read it over and visited my local GC and had no problems adjusting to the sequencer. You have to get out of your comfort zone with FL and take the time to learn something new. You can always still use FL while you're learning the MPC(just to keep your creativity fresh of course).

I bet you have no drum experience (fruity loops doesnt count) and your timing is wack. it says professional on there for a reason.. so go learn how to play drums and play with a metronome

mpc 1k bad sequencer, thats Bullsh*t, my 4 year old kid can make beats on that sh*t, i had fl studio, my stuff on the 1k is way better, I can bang out the beats i hear in my head, with fl after i clicked away it never sounded the way in had intended. 1k sequencer makes beatmaking child's play.

if your using step edit, no wonder why you are having problems. do it live, with 1/16 with swing, or even 1/32 with swing.

the 1k sequencer is rock solid man, you can get beats down easy, just take your time, and make sure your samples are tight and your laughing.

its better at sequencing than anything else except sonar that i use....

oh and fruity loops is not professional grade anything. i've used it and its not good.

wut you talkin bout man Fl is the nothin , not even compard to the 1k's sequencer , it kills 0-1,000,000 times better

Its just TOO TOO overwhelming for you, just take it slow and learn to use it.

Clicking Tabs on a 4 step sequencer on a computer screen may seem supperior becasue you can see it, but the EAR is what really matters. If you still believe the MPC series is wack then just stick to the computer, because there is nothing else on the market that can do what the MPC can with such ease, and if there is they are not as complex. Piece and LOCK THIS THREAD!!!!!!!! haha
