Yeah, i believe it said "Bootblock 103" with every update.

Personally, i will not go back to 2.1. The frustrating Amp Env bug is enough for me to steer clear away from that OS.

it shouldnt be a problem, it rewrites the flash when putting 2.1 back on?

i think mine said (xxxx/1083) i guess they're not really files. as it updates it writes how ever many whatever they're called, files, code, not sure really. thanks again man.

djobserv wrote:i mean we all waited for 2.1 for a long time, anxiously for the new features, i dont see why we cant wait for the bug fixes and hopefully some new features

because 6 month and not a single bug fix is of extremely low standard.

seriously, a sampler drum machine which amp eveloppe does not even work properly... what kind of sick joke is that ?

while waiting for os2.1 someone intelligent said "a good os is a stable os". i still stand this ground. if the third party os is more stable than akai own software, i will use the third party.

i lost any kind of respect for akai. until they sort ou their huge internal issues. until that happen, i'll be looking forward cowbells and distortedtekno new photoshop jobs

but i still strongely hope that akai will become again a company whose customers can be proud off.

(but i would beware a bit of new akai os. they may be able to add a protection against third party os.)

i feel you on that one

i may go back to it, it just got a bit fustrating with the no slice and whatnot

but i see this guy is very very hard at work trying to perfect this thing, he got beta 11 up a day after he just released beta 10, major props to that guy

i'll wait and see if the slice option is good to go, when it is, i think i'll be ready for the 3.0

implementing protection against third party os's would be the biggest waste of time EVER

it'd make me laugh so damn hard.

i'm saying though
akai needs to bring something incredible to the table for the 1k to make me ever think of switching back.

sparq wrote:in my opinion, i have not and will not upgrade to this os no matter how many new features it may present... i'm not downing anyone who has or will download and use this but Pad.... maybe what happened to you is a result of using this upgrade and the people who made it, didn't take into account that people would revert back to the akai version of 2.1

although i can honestly see this becoming something like what happened to the mpc3000 when people created 3rd party software but everyone used that due to the fact that akai stop supporting that mpc.

akai is not finished with the 1000 yet so i'll wait.

i'm not saying that they wouldn't - i'm just saying it'd be sooo dumb of them. alienating their customers. i'm not saying you're dumb for suggesting that they might.
