look, this is very simple. put the effect on the sound that you want it on and solo that sample.

then, go into MODE + RECORD and change it to the main outs. then play the sequence and rerecord the sound as a new sample with the effect on it. go to trim mode and cut it how you want it then switch the new sample out and essentially you have unlimited effects.

resampling is nice sometimes.

Mr modnaR and the rest of them are correct, you are restricted to only two effects+main fx at a time and you must resample to get the individual compression settings/sounds you are looking for. However, these fx settings (compression/eq in this case) can be named, saved and recalled so you don't have to go through the process of starting from scratch every time. This is done using the Effect Sets (say that five times fast).

Effect sets are actually presets for Effect1, Effect2 and Main. You can have 20 presets loaded in the machine at one time. These Effect Sets can be switched between in a sequence by going to step edit, insert event-Type:Effect. They also can be named and saved by the batch using either "Save all songs and sequences" or "save entire memory". You can then recall Effect Sets and assign them to empty preset slots 1-20 by going into load mode and selecting the .all file where these aare stored and pressing "do it". This brings up a dialog where you can select to load just effects, sequences or all three. To load Effect Sets (presets) press Effect (F2) in this screen and it will let you assign the saved preset to whatever empty slot you like.

You can make a library of presets doing this and re-use any of them in whatever project you are working in. In this case you could make presets like: Kick Comp/eq1, Snare comp/eq1, etc., and save these as one file called Drum Comp-EQ.all. Then you can re-load these effect sets, do minor fiddling and be able to quickly alter/resample your drum samples (or whatever else) the way you like.

sorry, but its usually the guys that don't know what they are talking about that say read the manual just to get their post game up, so with all regards, blow me.
