Pp will fit any bar at any tempo, but it´ll sound real whacky in many cases as it´s just a "chop and lock to quantize" function. You´ll have a retarded sounding holiday if you...

...are rolling your PP at a more than moderate slower or faster BPM than the original BPM of the PP´d sample.

...are not using a percussive (transient rich, not just drums), no notes overlapping and very clean sample (no noise in between drums or notes) as source.

...are using a groovy loop, slices it down to it´s individual components and replays it quantized. Instant german wooden leg.

If your´re going to work with straight loops, use manual timestretch and accept it´s limitations on the MPC 1000.

If you´re gonna chop, then chop and keep it chopped thus keeping the possibility of switching the order of slices, make up use of timestretching on problematic slices and having the power of actually messing with the groove and feel independent of the TC.
