MPC1000 power cable nightmare!

I turned it on today and started pressing random buttons when a message appears on the display:

Boot block ver.1.03
Boot on Sodimm memory check
Total mem 16mbytes
Check memory...
Pass 1: passed
Pass 2: passed
Pass 3: passed
Pass 4: failed (88000000)
The problem was found in memory
Please check memory
System halt...

Is this referring to ram? maybe if i take the ram out it'll work?

EUREKA! The 128mb ram had fallen out its socket. I slot it back into position and hey presto!
