live loop w/ input thru?

I don't know if you fixed your problem but I have an idea quite similar to yours but I don't know it is possible, let me explain :
I play my guitar and don't want, if possible, any computer on stage. Therefore I bought a MPC 1000 and know that I am working with it I changed my live setup and to keep it I woud like to use it as an advanced looper because the guitar loopers on the markets don't seem to be able to do what I want :
I would like to be able to record "on the fly" what I play in the MPC and to add layers but on different tracks that I would mute. Is it possible ? It seems to be pretty complex but with a MIDI foot controller couldn't I have a record button, a "next track record" button, some MUTEs buttons etc. ? I think an 8 buttons MIDI controller is fine...

kp3 is not very solid timing-wise, even on MIDI sync...

the samples slowly drift when you're looping.

I know it happens the worst when you record a loop, then change tempo. It adjusts the sample rate (and so the pitch and speed) to match the new BPM, but it still loops thru the whole sample, so if it doesn't exactly match up to the new tempo, it drifts.

I don't know off the top of my head how it is if you keep it constantly MIDI synced as you're looping, but I don't believe it's rock-solid timing.


Thankfully, press SHIFT+TAP TEMPO, and it restarts every sample, so you can just hit that on a beat.


The options available on the MPC are definitely not viable for full-on live looping, so really the only good option is a looping pedal.
