hi i just stopped by to say that those are not compatible
i bought this lcd and i can't get it working for the moment
it has 22 pin while the stock mpc1000 one has 20
21 and 22 are LED Backlight Anode and cathode (+5v and 0)
so i bridged 21 with pin 3 (vdd = 5v) and pin 22 with pin 2 (vss = 0v)
now the led backlight is working but i can't read anything (yes i tried adjusting the contrast)
datasheet of the original lcd says pin 9= Vee negative output but the datasheet of thr new one says no connection to pin 9
if someone was able to make it work or has any idea it's welcome

i think the led may be pulling the current away from where it's supposed to go. where does the original lcd get power for the led backlight? you could try there maybe

i measured the resistance between anode and VDD and between cathode and vss and i have zero resistance so my bridges were a good idea i guess ?!?!

i just found the datasheet for EXACTELLY the same lcd (pg24064lru-eta-h) that is used on the mpc1000 and it says that pin 9 is Vee (Powertip supply for LCD drive ( should be variable ) )
the datasheet for the cm24064-8 (the blue one) says pin 9 = no connections

hmm sounds incompatible then.

fair play for trying it out alcoholic homeboy. i had no such luck either, but i suppose it was worth a shot.

christfutura (alex) is the owner of needlewerk.com, he gave me good guidance on replacing the lcd, and i have sent him the lcd i ordered from futurlec.com so he may research it and find some answers, i have also ordered a blue lcd from him.

i have a quick question: when the mpc1k has the lcd removed, does it function? as it currently stands my mpc1000 has no screen at all because i broke the IDC connector on the green lcd. i tried turning my mpc just to see if it would work without the lcd, but nothing happened, no lights on buttons or anything. i take it this is normal with the lcd removed?

yep it doesn't start with no lcd connected

thank fuk i thought i had fried my baby! i can't wait for this blue lcd to arrive.
