some cats have said only the 32MX64 is the only one that works. hopefully you got that as well.

Thanks Mr modnaR, damn the installation is so easy. Im gettin my mpc 1000 in like 1-2 days, so i taught you had to take the MPC apart. Well i hope that ish comes in tomorrow

I just installed my Kingston 256mb Model# KVR133X64SC3/256 and it works fine. I have some PNQ 512mb flash card from Fry's too.

I was wondering if anyone has any more specific info on the CF card support. Specifically if the MPC1000 can take advantage of the faster (and much more expensive) cards used by highend digital cameras?

A good example is SanDisk:

The models named UltraII and ExtremeIII are much faster and more expensive but when loading 100MB of samples the extra speed would probably be worth it in the long run. Equal or faster even than a HD.

Any information on the speed specs of CF transfer would be a nice addition to the info in this thread.

ALL CF cards have faster read speeds than a hard disk, i'm not sure about the write speeds tho, i think you are right in saying that the super-dooper ones are faster. i think that getting one of these cards would do no harm (apart from to your wallet!) but i think that the reader has to support the faster speeds, so you wouldn't neccessarily notice a difference on the MPC, but possibly on the PC, if you had a USB2.0 reader.

either that, or print out the picture and stick it on their non-Akai ram if they send it for repair!

hey eimermusic, I have the sandisk ultraII 1G flash and it works like a charm. There's no diff in speed on the mpc, but if you have a 2.0 cardreader its waaay faster than the regular ones

has anyone tried faster memory? reason is my local dealer has difficulties in finding PC133 cause nowadays every mem is twice or thrice that speed..
My (uneducated) guess is that it wont work, but I thought maybe someone has tried it successfully, so I dont have to order it, waiting much longer and probably gettin it at a more expensive price..
